A number of years ago Penryn Museum approached us with 20 hours of audio archive of local memories they wanted to make accessible to their visitors. Our solution was to edit the audio into a handful of snappy sound bites and play them back through a granny’s winged armchair when someone sits on it. Apart from the offer of a comfy seat in a museum, the interactive’s success is down to the quality and length of the audio clips. Since then we have produced a number of versions, both mains powered for museum use and battery powered for touring.
