Freedive Exhibit

‘Freedive’ is one of the interactives we invented and built for the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. It is an exhibit about the physiology of freediving. Floating in a 1m high tank of oil is a model diver that you move with a magnet. As you drag the diver down, LED light boxes illuminate and illustrate the extreme effects of the mammalian dive reflex. When you finish, the diver gladly floats back to the surface again, cascading the light boxes up the display. Freedive is part of the NMMC’s 2008 main exhibition ‘Under the Sea’ which received an excellent review in the Museums Journal May 08 edition. See a short video on Youtube here>
